Alex & Kaila’s Wilderness Wedding at Glenworth Valley

Wedding Photography at Glenworth Valley on the Central Coast, New South Wales

Alex & Kaila

A few years ago during a spontaneous trip to Thailand, I met Kaila and Alex. We were touring with a group and by the end of it all, we became mates. Coincidently Alex and Kaila only lived a suburb away back home! They jokingly said before we headed home that one day they’ll get me to photograph their wedding.

After one overseas trip and 1 pandemic-induced lockdown, I received a message from them asking me to be their wedding photographer The wedding was to take place in the beautiful Glenworth Valley on the Central Coast. I’ve shot a number of weddings at Glenworth Valley in recent years and has become a personal favourite. Their coordinators are lovely, well organised and helpful.

Bridal Prep at Glenworth Valley’s Eco Cabins

The day began at one of the Glenworth Valley’s deluxe cabins where Kaila and her bridal party were getting ready. To spice up the morning we tried for a champagne shot. The girls however found their aim rather dwindled in all the excitement, spilling the champagne onto Kaila. Everyone burst out in laughter, resulting in some wholesome squad shots.

Wedding Ceremony at Glenworth Valley Lookout

After hanging out with the girls I headed to the ceremony, at the Glenworth Valley lookout. Alex When the bridal party arrived it got real emotional. Both of them were trying to hold back tears and it was cute as heck. The celebrant Adam had a really fun and relaxed vibe and delivered the ceremony perfectly. Once they were wed we celebrated the wedding by popping a champagne bottle over a Glenworth Valley Cliff.

Wedding Photos at Glenworth Valley

After the ceremony, our girl Emily drove us down to the Glenworth Valley Blue gums for the pictorial. I kicked off the photo session with photos of the entire bridal party. We hit my go-to shots such as the ‘walk and talk’, ‘the lift’ and the champagne shower.

After the bridal party portraits were complete I sent the guys and girls off to the Reception Hall at Glenworth Valley to relax and enjoy cocktails before their bridal party entrance.

During the Bride and Groom Portraits, I reminded Kaila and Alex to relax and just enjoy each other’s company. After all, this was one of the few parts of the day where they would be truly alone. I advised them to go for a walk and soak it in, and that I would simply shoot around them. This allowed everyone to take a breath and make way for some truly authentic moments.

Reception in the Glenworth Valley Rainforest Room

After portraits, we gathered to the Glenworth Valley Rainforest Room where the reception was being held. As always, the Glenworth Valley Wedding team had curated a gorgeous event space. The reception was a blast and I thoroughly entertained hearing everyone's speeches and watching Kaila and Alex’s bridal party drop it down low.

I’m extremely grateful to Kaila and Alex for having me along for their Wedding. I can’t wait to get back to Glenworth Valley again.
