Capturing Love: A Blissful Wedding at The Winery Surry Hills
Over the weekend, I had the pleasure of capturing the beautiful wedding of Mark and Anthony, who chose to commemorate their 6th anniversary with a unique and intimate celebration. The picturesque setting for this special day was none other than "the winery" in Surry Hills.
Opting for a more personal affair, the couple decided to share their joyous occasion exclusively with their closest friends and family, including the adorable addition of their dog, George. The pair tied the knot during the flawlessly orchestrated ceremony led by the talented Marry me Zoe, whose performance had everyone in fits of laughter. It truly set the tone for an unforgettable celebration of Mark and Anthony's love story.
As the day unfolded, the couple, along with their cherished guests, gathered for a private lunch in the enchanting garden room. Surrounded by good food, refreshing drinks, and heartfelt speeches from some of the attendees, the atmosphere was brimming with warmth and joy. The cutting of the cake marked a sweet conclusion to this remarkable day, and as the festivities wound down, I bid farewell, grateful to have been part of such a remarkable celebration.
Tell me about your ‘The Beginning’
“We were both training at Fitness First in Darlinghurst and appeared to be training at similar times. When I crossed paths with Mark on the gym floor I would give him a head nod to appear interested but not too interested. I actually did this a few times and he didn't notice. It wasnt until we ran into each other via mutual friends that we formally met.”
When and where did you get engaged?
“It was very unconventional in terms of an engagement. We were getting ready for a night out and were in our bedroom. Mark grabbed me and asked me to marry him so of course I said yes.”
What style/theme have you chosen for your Wedding Day?
“The Winery as a location is quite a rustic venue, with us intending to have traditional wedding suits (Mark in James Bond Black, and Anthony wearing White :)) - We are wearing identical suits, just in different colour suit jackets (one black, one white).
From an overall look, we expect our guests to dress in smart yet summer wedding-appropriate attire
Classy and elegant for sure :)”
What are you most looking forward to on the day?
“Having all our close friends and family together with us, eating delicious food and enjoying flowing drinks celebrating the lifelong commitment we are making together.”
Top Tips!
“Don't underestimate small weddings. We learnt that if its 40 or 400 adults you still need to go through the same planning and admin work regardless of wedding size. So give yourself plenty of time to get through the admin, try allocating 1-2hrs per week so you can get it all done and not be overwhelmed with ensuring you get it right for your special day.”
